Updates

Its hard to believe I've already been gone 6 weeks!  I had a very eventful maternity leave.  Caring for a not-quite-two-year-old and a newborn is eventful enough and while I was gone my 22 mo. old little girl had surgery, my 13 year old brother had his appendix out, and my sister got engaged!  So, I have been VERY busy.  I'm excited about returning to work next week.

Below is a list of some upcoming events to put on your calendar.

Monday, November 21:  I return to the classroom!

Thursday-Friday, November 24 & 25: NO SCHOOL- Thanksgiving Break

Friday, December 2 9:30 - 11:00 am: Family Ornament Making (please join us in the first grade room for ornament making, hot chocolate sipping, and cookie nibbling!)

Promise Center Fundraiser

Look stylish AND help the Promise Center raise money for classroom literacy materials! We will be using money raised to help buy books for our classroom library, audio books for our listening center, e-books for our Nook, and other supplies to promote early literacy. See the design to the right (by our own Ms. Hanson), and click here to download and print an order form! Thanks for your support! :)

About The Teacher

My name is Heather Horton. This is my 5th year teaching at LaFarge Public Schools. I taught two years of Four-Year-Old Kindergarten & Early Childhood Special Education, followed by two years teaching Kindergarten. I am married and have a gorgeous little girl, who will turn two in January. We are expecting our second child at the end of September. I live next door to my parents, about forty minutes from LaFarge. The long commute is totally worth it! Not only do I get to see my family whenever I want, I also get to teach in a wonderful, supportive community with amazing children, families & co-workers!
